How it works
PROTEIN IS ESSENTIAL
A protein is a dietary substance consisting of several amino acids and is scientifically referred to as a "large biomolecule" or "macromolecule". There are hundreds of different amino acids in nature, of which only about 20 are spoken. Of these 20, nine are considered essential (like vitamins). This means your body can't make them. You MUST consume them every day, otherwise your body will age faster.
PROTEIN IS MUSCLE
Protein is needed to build strong muscles. After water, proteins are the second largest component of your body's muscles and cells.
Proteins such as collagen and elastin are important components of connective tissue. If you use more collagen and elastin, you will look younger, feel younger, stronger and more flexible. Keratin (another protein) is needed to build strong, thick hair and strong nails. So protein helps you to look good and feel good.
WHY DO THEY HAVE TO CONSUME PROTEIN EVERY DAY?
A metabolic process called "protein turnover" means that protein once eaten and absorbed into your body can only exist for a short period of time. Only ONE DAY on average. So you need to consume protein every day because your body needs it to build and repair muscles and make you look and feel young.
DON'T I HAVE ENOUGH PROTEIN FROM THE FOOD?
Yes and no. The nutritional program of an average American, even a healthy one, provides enough food and protein to stay alive. WHAT IS BAD ABOUT WHEY- AND CASEIN-PROTEIN?
WHEY is a waste product of cheese production. It is the thin liquid that drains off the cheese. I call it "liquid meat." It is dried and then concentrated because it contains less than 1% protein.
CASEIN is also a by-product of cheese production and is mainly used for the production of glue, paint and plastic. It is produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and after consumption forms a clot in the stomach that slows down absorption.
WHAT ABOUT SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE?
Soybeans have been a source of food for thousands of years. Today, 94% of soya grown in the USA is genetically modified. Soy protein ISOLAT is so far removed from the soy bean that Wellness Today calls it a "heavily processed stepchild of soy" and says you should avoid it. It is so highly processed and refined that most health authorities consider it toxic.
